fashion : relax and wear pink

Hi y'all! Happy Monday! Can we get a three day weekend every weekend? Seriously, I'm all for that! I need more weekend time to get things done.

Anywhoodle, I realized last week it's been a long time since I've done a Fashion Meets Ph(F)otography post. Shame on me. So wait no longer my dedicated readers, I'm here with a new post!

This week's inspiration comes from this lovely photograph :

I found this lovely photograph and I got lost. Dreaming about days of hanging with friends and late night, epic conversations about life, love, and everything in between.

Which inspired this outfit :

Relax and wear pink.

Which really, is all about those comfy days when you feel completely connected to everything and everyone, and so filled-up with life and love that it's like you are, at last, exactly who and where you are supposed to be. Anyone have days like that? When you dress exactly for you? Do exactly for you? Oh I hope you do. I hope you realize who you are, and are completely comfortable being you. No, this isn't about all free-love, hippy nonsense, haha. It's just that for me, my teen years were so much about being what everyone wanted me to be. My early-twenties were about figuring out who I really am. And now, in my late-twenties (gah), it's all about being who I really am. Being the me that I want to be, to the point of dressing like I want, doing what I want and enjoying things that I want. Which I'm sure, people could contort and twist around to be very selfish and negative, but really, for me it's about wearing outfits like the one above, wearing pink because I love the color, listening to 90s music because it's the best, and being the best momma, wife, friend, daughter, sister that I can be. That's who and what I want to be. And I'm going all out for it. Because there's no point in half-way being yourself, you still aren't being yourself. Either go all out or not at all.

Who and what do you want to be, and are you going all out for it?

p.s. I'm 98% sure this post went way deeper than I intended. But, that happens, and that's part of me, I'm deep, reflective, and a touch nostalgic. So I'm just rolling with it. ;)

p.p.s. And if you have no idea where the saying on that sweater are from, shame on you. ;) Or... you can just check out the video below for one awesome blast from the past. And if the song gets stuck in your head all day... well.... you're very welcome. ;)

  3. That song on the sweater brings back memories! I was on our school dance team and we had a routine to a portion of that song and I just remember us doing it over, and over, and over again. Man...at the time I swore I never wanted to hear that darn song ever again..LOL The outift looks so comfy and snuggly....makes me want to get up and leave work right now and go home and be in my own comfortable surroundings. Oh wait....everything makes me want to do that!

  4. Regina, The older you get the more you find that it's more about what you like and feel comfortable in, then what others expect of you. That is being "authentic". It's a wonderful quality.

  6. I am over 50 and still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up. lol. But like Sheila said, I have reached the point in my life where I don't worry anymore about what others think of me. The only opinion that really matters is my Abba daddy's.
