inspiration : DIY "thank you" tags

Hi y'all! I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding in September and I'm helping the bride-to-be with some fancy-looking labels for her candy table. So I had to buy a calligraphy pen. Okay, okay, I didn't have to, but I've been wanting one for a while and this gave me the perfect reason to buy one since I knew I'd use it soon.

I've been playing around, doodling on random papers on my desk, practicing different styles, techniques, spacings, and I even made a card for a friend. But as I was packaging up some Etsy orders this week, I wished I had some little thank you cards or something. So, I got some blank tags, ribbon and went to work on these lovelies:

I don't think instructions are necessary.

And you may love the look of calligraphy, but you don't have a pen. No worries. Just read this article on How to Create Fake Calligraphy. And to be honest, and this might be because I'm not a "real" calligraphist(?) or because I'm just lame, but a lot of her techniques in that article, I use when doing my own calligraphy. Just saying.

Now I'm trying to decide what I want to try next. I'm tempted to try my hand at the "fake calligraphy" on some canvases for home decor. Or maybe I'll stay small and do some business cards. Who knows?!?

Now you go nuts! And then come back here and tell me what you made and how it went. ;)
