Hi y'all! Christmas is almost here! THREE MORE DAYS! And then it's time to pack up (or throw away) the tree and put away all the lovely, cheerful decorations. So sad. How long do you leave your tree and decor up after Christmas? Mine usually stay up until after New Year, just because we're traveling and I don't have any free time until then. It'll definitely be like that this year since we're traveling the week between Christmas and New Year.
Anyway, today I'm happy to share with you another guest blogger, and I'm also sad because this is my last guest blogger and I only have one or two more Christmas Traditions posts, before this fun series is over. :( So sad. But, that just means different series will be beginning soon and as always, those times, they are a changing.
But for now we still have Miss Jade from Constant Chatter with us today! :) Jade has a very full life with all those girls, and you just never know what you're going to get with her posts. It's a fun blog to read! And without further ado, here is Miss Jade and her favorite family Christmas tradition:
The Pancake Tradition
My name is Jade. I'm married to Daniel, and we have four girls..Addison, Tegan, Myka, and Danica. We live way up in chilly Northern Canada...the most beautiful place to celebrate Christmas, in my opinion :) I'm so honored to be sharing one of our favorite family traditions with you!
As any married person knows, when you first get married, it can feel a little...strange...to merge those Christmas traditions. My husband and I discovered this 8 years ago when we tied the knot. Until this year, our "compromise" has been to spend one year with my family, and one with his. It's worked great, and we have been able to enjoy the best of both worlds :)
This year, everything is changing:
We are spending Christmas at home. Just us, our four daughters, and my sister.
We don't have many traditions...not for just us, but I have no doubt that we will after this year!
I'm sure we will start some this year, and I'm looking forward to it! Until then, I am borrowing one from Daniel's family. His mom makes pancakes with whipped cream and strawberries every year for supper on Christmas Eve. It's my favorite tradition when we spend the holidays at there house!
So, I'm bringing it here...with a twist. Those of you who are Pinterest addicts like myself will probably have seen the pin about the red velvet pancakes. Deep red pancakes...piled high with whipped cream and strawberries. What could be more Christmasy than that?
So, with one borrowed tradition, we begin the Christmas season of 2011. I look forward to seeing what every second holds for us!
See what I mean about a busy family? haha. Those pancakes look gorgeous! Definitely Christmas-y! Thank you so much Jade for being a guest on my blog!
Another post is coming up in just a bit.... I can't believe I'm already a week behind on my shades of winter series. Last week was just too much for me. lol. But don't worry, some lovely posts are coming your way ASAP!
