Hi ya'll! It's been a couple of weeks since my last weekly loves post. Not that I haven't had anything to love, it's just been busy. :) In addition to posting about the things that I love, I'm also going to start posting about some great finds on the internets. ;)
Let's get started, shall we?
I love that Pandora is now limitless. Did ya'll get the email about that too? I was pretty excited about it! I listen to pandora a lot while I'm working and I've often maxed out my monthly limit in just a week. That warning email that you get to let you know you've almost reached your maximum listening hours for the month... that's a sad email. But thankfully, Pandora is a smart company and now it's unlimited. Makes. My. Day. ♥ I'm currently listening to Thomas Newman Radio on my Pandora station. It's golden!
I love my morning coffee. I usually drink two cups over the span of about 4 hours. By the time I take my last drink, it's cold, but that's okay. I don't mind cold coffee at all. Sometimes, I even prefer it to be cold.
I love our new church family. They're soooo sweet and kind and genuine. The past two months of being here have just been the ultimate blessing and I'm so excited and encouraged about the time we get to be here, and I hope it's a long time. :)
And speaking of church family. Last night we went on a double date with one of our elders and his wife, The Pharr's, and they are seriously the most adorable couple ever. Just precious. We ate at the Dixie Dog where I had the foot long dixie dog. It's like a corn dog only not in corn dog batter. I liked it alright. But I think I liked the hamburger that I got there last time better. (I think I prefer the regular corn dog batter, but shhhh... that's just between us.) Everyone else got "the hybrid". It's a skewered hot dog and cheese stick, dipped in batter and deep fried. They all seemed to love it. I had a bite of the cheesy end and it was pretty good. And for dessert we got a fried snickers. Have you had one of those? Joey, who LOVES snickers, wasn't as thrilled about it as he thought he would be. But that could also be because he was stuffed on the rest of his food. I ate most of it and it was delicious. Better than I expected even. Have you had a fried snickers? If you get the opportunity, try it. It's great.
On a related note: we all have appointments with our cardiologists next week. That should be fun... ;)
I love getting letters from Amanda.
I love writing letters to Amanda. It's all wonderful. I'm even going to write and send a letter to another friend this weekend. She should be surprised. I think there's something so genuine and authentic in actually hand writing (we don't type our letters) a letter to someone. I have this dream that one day my future children and grand children will find all my letters and discover this whole new side of me that they never realized. Kind of like a legacy that I leave behind.
And for some various internet finds that I love:
| Coffee Art |
This is where I got the picture of the coffee above. You have got to see some of this coffee art. It's amazing. Joey, his brother and SIL and I have often discussed having a coffee shop one day and if we ever do it, I definitely want to learn how to do some of this stuff. It's amazing!
This is gorgeous! Dana, over at MADE, is making this for her little girl (on the way) and she posted about working on it this weekend. It makes me wish I knew how to knit. Granny taught me to crochet when I was little, but I didn't like it that much and all I learned was how to make a single strand. Nothing more. Maybe one day, someone will teach me to knit so I can make a chevron baby blanket for my children. If I don't learn in time, I'll have to recruit one of my knitting friends to make it for me. :) Go read Dana's post, you have to see her color selections. I LOVE them. ♥
I'm all about creating memories. I have this mental list (which I'll be turning into a physical list because I'm a listographer) of projects, photo ideas and just general ideas of things to do with my kids when I have kids. I want my kids to have tons of happy memories of crafting with mom, spending time with mom, mom loving all over them, etc. This is the result of some deep psychological issues that stem from my childhood, but regardless, I still think it's a good idea and it's one of the things I'm looking forward to with kiddos. I want to be a Memory Making Mom. Stephanie over at Henry Happened is an awesome example of a Memory Making Mom. Take a look at some of her easy-peasy craft projects for kiddos and then take some time out of your busy schedule to do at least one of them with your kids. You can't hold on to your kids forever, but you can hold on to your memories for a lifetime.
Okay, I gotta get going. I've got work to do and I also need to start cooking some green chile burritos for the football coaches to take on their away game today. And then it'll be a relaxing day of working, crafting and focusing on not getting sick. I woke up with a sore throat this morning... let's hope it doesn't turn in to anything else. Go away sore throat, go away! I'm hoping that there are healing properties in my coffee this morning that will make my throat feel better in no time.
Happy Friday ya'll!
Have an absolutely wonderful weekend!
