me : weekly loves

Hi Ya'll! This is the story of a poor, neglected, lonely blog, with no one around to post things. Also known as, I've been super busy and haven't had a chance to blog lately. ;) It also includes this week's "weekly loves". So I shall ("shall" always sounds so authoritative, don't you think?) title this post as follows:

The Endearing Story of a Poor, Neglected, Lonely Blog, With No One Around to Post Things Because They are SO Incredibly Busy and Under Immense Pressure But Are Now Back and Have Married Their "Weekly Loves" Post to a "Weekend Update" Post and Thus Produced the Offspring of the Post You Are Now Reading

But for short, we'll just call this "weekly loves". :)

It's been almost a week since I blogged last. Holy macaroni, Batman! The extra long weekend got extra busy and I just haven't had time to.

First, there was working on the old house on Thursday evening. This is my least favorite part of moving. I'm down with the old house. I don't want to do anything else to it. I just want it sold and gone.

Second, there was the football game on Friday night. You know that I have to be there as I do have the ALL important job of being the "Official Tweeter" of the Plains Cowboys football games. And this passed Friday, my phone was fritzing out (side note: my next phone will be the iPhone. I will not buy another Android phone as long as the iPhone exists and I am able to afford it.) so I was panicking, afraid I wasn't going to be able to tweet efficiently. Fortunately, all of my tweets went through. WHEW! And you think Obama is under pressure? Puh-leeze! Do you even know what football means to people in west Texas??? That's right... I'm important.

I love coke zero. I know prefer it to Diet Coke and am slowly working my way up to preferring it over regular coke. It's my pop of choice. That's right, I said pop. "Coke" is a brand, "Soda" is something you clean with, "Pop" is something you drink. I'm glad we've finally clarified that.
On our way to work on the house Thursday evening, I had this book in the car and decided to read it to pass the time. Then I couldn't stop reading it and ended up re-reading the entire thing over the weekend. I love this book. This was probably the 4th time I've read it. I just bought two more copies last week as the hardbacks are only $10 right now for the 20th anniversary of "Redeeming Love". The two I just bought are copies 9 and 10 that I've bought. I keep buying this book and then I give it away. One year for Christmas I bought 6 or 7 copies and gave them all away. This book is that good. Have you read it? If not, you should. In fact, I have an extra copy right now I could send to you... ;) haha.

Saturday we slept in. Then we got up, had a fun scavenger hunt for a pair of shorts (Joey decided to help with laundry, enough said right?) and went to the Watermelon Roundup that they have ever year here in Plains. It was AWESOME! They have booths for shopping, music for dancing and all the free watermelon you can eat. And of course carnival food. For lunch I had a foot long corn dog (YUMMO), curly fries and fresh squeezed lemonade. It was delicious. They also had the museum open and we went in and walked around. I loved looking at all the antique items. My favorite thing in there was this dress. Lace on top, layered tulle (at least it looks like tulle) on the bottom... it is GORGEOUS! I want a dress like this and a fancy place to wear it to. :)

I love rain and I love fall! Sunday morning, we woke up to very cool temps and rain. It was MAH-VELOUS! It didn't rain much, but I'm so thankful for what we did get. And the weather??? UGH...... IT'S AMAZING!!!!!! Fall is practically here and I LOVE it!! I'm sure we'll have another hot week here and there, but for now, LOVE IT! I'm soaking it all up!

And lastly, I love Google Chrome. I switched last week because I couldn't get Netflix to stream on my computer via IE anymore, so I tried out Google Chrome and VOILA! it worked! I'm still getting adjusted to some of it, but what I've done so far I love. I love that it has spell check built in. I love how it downloads everything and keeps it in a bar on the bottom of the browser. So far.... I'm a fan. If you haven't tried it out yet, you might give it a whirl. So far, I think it's worth the switch. :)

Okay... that's it for now. I hope you enjoyed the post. Oh wait, you might be asking what I did yesterday? Well... on my Labor Day I labored at the old house cleaning more and touching up paint. Then we came home, cleaned this house, showered, and had a cookout and invited people from church over. It was a wonderful time. :) Have I mentioned how much I love this place?!? Because I do. I am so blessed. :)

So.... how was your weekend?

  1. I definately love the long title post and trust me I feel you on the being "extra busy" part. What a bummer that you have to still have your hands tied up with the old house....I know what you mean about being "done with it". Your mind and heart are already out the door and now you physically want to be out and done with it as well! It's hard to care about its well-being when you've already moved on.

PS. I'm going to have to use your explanation regarding the pop and soda debate with my hubby! We always butt heads on this. I'm with you; it's called pop. He calls it soda.
