Weekly Wishlist - Uh oh, I've done it again!

Hello! This evening I was perousing around the forums when I stumbled upon one that was asking people how they searched for items. Whether they used the categories, pounce, search bar, etc. As I'm always searching for items, for myself or for a blog post, I use the search feature a lot. Which reminded me that I was a little late on getting this week's Weekly Wishlist out there.

So, I took to the searching and trying to decide which theme would be the best when I finally decided that in the spirit of me trying to dress up my packaging, I would search for pretty lovelies of the paper goods persuasion. I found item after item, shop after shop, hearting them all, loving them all! But then, I found this little shop: Seasonal Delights. And I know that I usually do my Weekly Wishlist on a variety of shops but gosh darn it, I LOVE THIS SHOP! I've hearted a lot of her items and I'm just waiting to sell some jewelry so I can order some pretty paper lovelies. So PLEASE, go visit her shop. You will not be disappointed. AND, just to let you know how fabulous this shop is, one of the items I hearted has already SOLD.

Here are some of my favorites:

Aren't these just lovely? I simply adore them! I can just picture putting them on the outside of a wrapped gift. Ah, gorgeous!

Lovely little bags that would allow me to easily wrap purchases. It would add such a lovely touch! And then with the crown tags, PERFECT!

Siiiiiigh, I heart these so much! I really love them! I think they are just delightful and with my shop name Vivat Regina being latin for "Long live the queen," it's SOOO fitting for my shop! I want boxes of these!

These tags are so sweet, I just love them. Seriously, stop reading my blog and go to her shop. (Now, how often have I said to *stop* reading my blog?? hmmm...?)

Delightfully sweet little stickers to go with the adorable tags above. You REALLY need to check out Seasonal Delights for even more wonderful finds!love MUCH love

DIY - Simple Earring Cards

First off, I've now got 40 followers! YIPPEE! I think it's awesome that 40 people (most I've never met) care about what I have to say enough to follow my blog. I love it! I'm hoping to have at least 100 by December so I think I'm off to a good start. :D

Second, I'm sorry that the quality of these pics aren't superb. My camera batteries were running down and I needed to get them finished so I couldn't focus on getting the perfect shot. But, I think these will work.

Now moving on to the important part. As a jewelry maker and seller, I've been struggling on the packaging side of the business. I've never had a compaint as far as my jewelry not getting there, or being damaged, or anything, but I've been wanting to figure out a way to ship my jewelry more beautifully. I've got plenty of package ideas bouncing around in my head (I'll share those later), but first I wanted to get some cards to put my jewelry on. Earrings, are what I really had in mind for this as they're so small and can get lost in a big wad of tissue paper, so I'm starting with earring cards.

These are super easy, super simple, but your design possibilities are absolutely ENDLESS! This first batch I'm using some scrapbook paper that I already have on hand, but I think I'll dress them up more as I go.

But let's get started:

You will need:

Scrapbook paper
Cardstock
Scissors
Glue
Something with a small, sharp point (like a thumb tack)
Small jewelry baggie
Pen
Ribbon or any other decoration you want

First flip your scrapbook paper over. Match up the corners of your scrapbook paper and your cardstock, then trace around it.

This will give you a piece of scrapbook paper the exact same size as your cardstock.

Now cut out that piece of scrapbook paper and glue it to the cardstock.

TIP: I used an old credit card as a hard, straight edge to smooth out all of the air bubbles and to make sure the scrapbook paper and cardstock were stuck together firmly. Then I set the glued piece under a stack of books while drying, so it would come out smooth, flat, and perfect for using.

Next, using your baggie as a guide, cut out the piece of paper so it will fit into your baggie. I had to do some trimming several times until I got it just right, so don't worry about messing it up...

Now you're ready to make the holes. I used a clay-sculpting tool this time, but before I've used a thumbtack and both worked just fine.

The placement of the holes are up to you. For longer earrings, I put them closer to the top. For earrings that have large beads hanging from them, I made them off kilter a bit to allow for the extra room.

Then using a sharpie pen, I wrote out the name of the earrings and by shop name.

Then I slipped the whole thing into the baggie and VOILA! Success!
I think eventually I'll add ribbon and little things to spice it up, but so far I think they look great!
HAPPY CRAFTING!

Team Feature Tuesday - PeculiarParchment

Hi everyone! I've been very busy with a project for TeamCAC, that I almost forgot it's Team Feature Tuesday! Whoa! Anyway, this week's feature comes from TeamETC. Looking through her shop I discovered she's located in Lubbock, TX, which is only about 30 minutes from me. How fantastic!

Anyway, Peculiar Parchment offers a lot of wonderful paper goods. She's got LOADS of sales and 100% positive feedback, so you know you are going to be well taken care of when doing business with her. Please stop by and visit her shop for all your paper good needs. Remember, you can find Peculiar Parchment and all other TeamETC shops by searching for "teametsytx" on Etsy.

Sometimes it's hard to find cards for boys, they don't want anything to froo-froo. These would be great!

What perfect cards to slip into your sold orders before you ship them off! I love them! And as an Etsy buyer (as well as seller) I would think very highly of the shop that took time and money to give me a sweet lil card. :)

I think these are adorable. But you must go visit her shop to see all the varieties of tags she offers.
That's it for this week's Team Feature Tuesday. Next week I will be featuring someone from TeamCAC, stop by to see who it is. Also, today I've been making some earring cards for when I sell earrings. Later this week I'll post a new blog complete with pictures and instructions so you can make your own. Stay tuned.... :)

Time doesn't heal all wounds...

I know the saying, "Time heals all wounds." Not true. Time isn't the great healer I thought it was. It's been 5 years and my heart is still just as broken.

Five years ago today, Granny passed away. She taught me everything about being a mom, wife, Christian, and everything. I miss her so much. I know, from the life she lived, that she's in heaven and isn't suffering anymore, but I still miss her and still wish she were here to talk to, to listen to, to cry with.

I love you Granny!

Weekly Wishlist - Heavens to Jane!

Whew... is it sure windy here today! Thank you west Texas for your constant wind and dust. It lets me know there are more sure things in life than just death and taxes.

Alrighty, so I know that I'm a little over due for a new Weekly Wishlist. Most of the times, the themes for these just come so easily to me. But last week, I was drawing a big _______. There was just nothing. This week I've bounced around several ideas and finally decided to just do a little search-a-roo on Etsy for "Pride and Prejudice." After scrolling down a little bit I came across a t-shirt that was "Mr. Darcy's proposal", HAD to click that! And upon clicking that t-shirt pic I was taken to the most amazing little shop! It's all things Jane Austen. I *LOVE* IT! And I know that I usually save shop features for people from one of my teams, and that my weekly wishlist items are from various shops on Etsy that have an item that fits perfectly into my intended theme, but today, I just can' thelp myself. I have to show you five of my favorite items from this shop, and believe me, there are lots more items that I want from there as well. In fact, I rarely favorite a seller and this time I did just that.

So, without further adieu, here is BROOKISH:

This is what started it all... I LOVE this shirt! It's purple (my favorite color) and it's got Mr. Darcy's proposal on it... it's just completely perfect!

I *NEED* this, to drink my coffee, hot chocolate, and tea out of. Someone point this out to my husband... My birthday is in May... ;)

I don't think I could ever use this. I just want to hang it in my office all glorified and what not.

When I was little, I would get awesome stationary sets for gifts and I could hardly use them. I always thought that were so beautiful and I didn't want to get rid of them. (Back then it was Lisa Frank stuff.) I feel similar with these, but I think I know of a few people that would truly appreciate receiving them as much as I would love giving them. Only they would be worthy of such fine paper.

I *NEED* this, to drink my coffee, hot chocolate, and tea out of. Someone point this out to my husband... My birthday is in May... ;) Yes, same thing for both mugs. I *NEED* them *BOTH*!!

Okay, I hope you are as giddy as I am! haha. I can't wait to sell some jewelry online and get some $$$ stored up in my paypal and then go to town in this lil shop. It's exceptionally wonderful.

Team Feature Tuesday (on Wednesday) - kateemarie

Welcome everyone, to another Team Feature Tuesday. Unfortunately, I got a little preoccupied yesterday (cleaning and organizing my office) that I never sat down to do this week's Team Feature. But, no worries, it's here today, just a day late. I'm still a long ways away from having my office the way I want it, but it's getting there... very slowly. BUT, before I start looking around, and getting side-tracked, let me just stop and introduce you to this cute little shop. The Etsy shop KATEEMARIE is a cute little shop with a TON of cute earrings in it. It also has scarves, purses, baby quilts, necklaces, bracelets, so I truly believe that KATEEMARIE is a artist/crafter after my own heart. I LOVE creating too and can never quite settle into just one medium, I LOVE IT ALL!

KATEEMARIE is a shop from my TeamCAC (Christian Artists and Crafters) and I really encourage you to check out and purchase from her shop as 10% of her profits go to charity. Sooo, if you calculate it just a bit --- with the Etsy percentages, Paypal percentages, free shipping that she offers, and the percentage going to charity, you know that KATEEMARIE is really doing this because she loves it, not because she expects to make a million dollars from it. I love that heart of gold!

I adore the Wizard of Oz, and so of course, I love jewelry inspired by the movie.

Don't ask me why, but these earrings make me think of oceans, pirates, ship wrecks, coastal areas, lost treasures, the 1500s... yeah, I don't know why. I love them.

Alrighty, well that concludes this week's Team Feature Tuesday. Sorry that it's a day late, but I'm working on my New Year's Resolution of cleaning and organizing my office so please understand. :)

Team Feature Tuesday - WhiteThistleBridal

Good morning all! Some weeks, it takes me a while to decide who's shop I'm going to feature in my weekly Team Feature. Some weeks, like this week, it happens to be the first shop I stumbled into upon my search. After doing a simple search for "TeamEtsyTX" (which by the way is how you can find all of the shops belonging to TeamETC [Team Etsy Texas Crafters]) I found this shop's items on the first page and LOVED them! Especially right now, since my brother is getting married in May and I'm helping with the planning and decorating and what not so I've got wedding on the brain.

So, if you , or anyone you know, is getting married this year, you HAVE to check out this wonderful shop! It's full of these GORGEOUS ring bearer pillows (and nests). There's also some flower girl basket in there too, just not as many. But I'm sure more will be coming soon.

.
.
.

Isn't this just stunning? I mean, talk about making a statement, I think it's AMAZING!

Simple but so elegant!

I think this is so cool. So different.

And this is beautiful. I'm wondering if I can convince my soon-to-be sis-in-law to order this. (Then again, I wonder if she's having a ring bearer.........hmmm......)
.
.
.
.

Also very elegant.
Alrighty, well that wraps up this week's Team Feature Tuesday. I think this shop is incredibly gorgeous and I'm really *still* awestruck about how much I love these pillows. Almost makes me wish Joey and I were getting married again. haha. ;)

Shop Happenings!

Hi everyone! I usually don't use my blog to highlight my own shop, but today I have decided to make an exception. :) It's been a while since I've made some new jewelry because of the holidays and this and that. I've really been itching to buy some new beads since I got a gift card and some beads/pendants for Christmas, as well as having some money in Paypal from selling jewelry before Christmas. Last week (while the hubby was gone), I finally went out and purchased some new beads, findings and other supplies, and I sat down one night and purchased several items in my "Etsy Favorites" folder. Then, I spent some time and made several new pieces of jewelry.

One of the new items is already in my Etsy shop. It's pretty silly, but I kind of hope this doesn't sell so I can keep it lol. [Remember, FREE SHIPPING in my shop all the time!]

Isn't it just gorgeous! *sigh*

And here are a couple things, not yet in the shop....

Fly Away (Black) - $12

Midnight Drops - $9

And, per my New Year's Resolution #1, I'm trying to declutter everything and need to get rid of some extra supplies that I have lying around. Even my DESTASH items include FREE SHIPPING.

Bright red beads - $4.15

Lilac Beads - $4.15
Alrighty, that's all for your sneak peek. More items will be added to my shop daily so check back often. :D I'm hoping my destash items sell quickly so I can make good on one of my resolutions. I'm a day behind in my daily Bible reading but I think I will be able to make up for that tonight. So I guess so far, I'm doing pretty well on my resolutions.
How are you doing on your resolutions?
