The weather is cool and I love it!

Today I kept hearing a slight rustling sound next to my desk while working. After a little investigating, I discovered the culprit -- little Topher. Topher is the smaller of the two cats we have. She's the little girl and has learned to find little hidey holes to hide from the dog. haha.
These pictures show a few things: 1) I desperately need to clean my office/studio workspace, 2) the weather must be cooler now because my cats are finding vents to sleep by and 3) I sleep the same way as my cats - on my stomach with one arm jutted out and one arm tucked in. HAHA! Happy Friday ya'll!

Flag football

This passed Sunday evening, instead of our usual devotional for the Youth Group we split into teams and played a little flag football! We had two teams of four and even though we had to make a halftime potty break (we definitely underestimated how the cold weather and running would affect our bladders...), we still got to play quite a bit and the game ended in a tie. We really weren't expecting such a COLD front to move in so quickly. We were thinking it was going to be just a lovely fall game but thanks to that crazy west Texas weather, we were Fa-REEZ-ing. But it was still a lot of fun.
All of us huddled up after the game for warmth and a picture.
Joey (far left) and the boys. I guess the other boys were busy and couldn't come play... :(
Me (center) and the girls. Love them! :)

Team Feature Tuesday - KrispyBanana

This week I'm on top of things and although I had a doctor's appointment this morning, I've still readied an new blogpost for this week's Team Feature Tuesday. This week the feature comes from my TeamCAC (Team Christian Artists and Crafters). You can do a search for all TeamCAC items by entering 'teamcac' in your search box. And let me tell you, TeamCAC has a WIDE variety of items from chain maille to crochet to supplies. So please support the Handmade Movement, support Christians, and shop for TeamCAC items.

Our Feature this week is from the shop called KRISPY BANANA. Yes, it's an odd name, but I think it's fabulous! If you, or anyone you know, is expecting (or just had) a child, you MUST check out her shop for the most amazing selection of Infant, Toddler, and Children's clothing and accessories. And here are a few of my favorites...

A fun little set for that future barrell racer or bull rider!

This adorable onesie made it to the front page on ETSY! That's a big deal so you know this is one HOT item!

I fell in love with this bib right off! It's just so cute, fun and GORGEOUS!

I think this set is a PERFECT gift idea and I just LOVE IT!

Another PERFECT gift idea! I love the pink and lime green combo!

Weekend Wishlist - Whimsical Woodland Wonderland

Boy, do I ever love alliteration. ;) lol. Alrighty, well this weekend has been a lot more quiet and more uneventful than last weekend (no rushing and weekend travelling, for me at least). I'm definitely looking forward to having my husband come home, but I'm glad he had lots of fun attending the OU/TX game in Dallas. Alright, well without anymore digressions.... here is this weekend's Weekend Wishlist. Enjoy!

A gorgeous pair of acorn earrings.

And perhaps match those earrings with this lovely shirt.

A fun and lively piece of art!

What a fun gift for newlyweds or for an engagement party or even anniversary!

I'm such a sucker for handmade soaps and candles. This soap is GORGEOUS and would be a wonderful gift for that special guy.

And for the finale, this super cute wallet/ipod holder.

Weekend Wishlist - Get Down and Polka!

My, my, my what a weekend! Today and yesterday was my "Student Holiday" from Texas Tech so I was able to go visit my family for the weekend which was REALLY nice! I haven't been back home to visit since LAST CHRISTMAS, which for anyone who knows me knows that that is a long time. I had such a wonderful time, except for being sick. Thank you sinuses, allergies, colds, whatever it is that is bringing me down.

Unfortunately, because of my long weekend and being back home (in the boonies) I only had very limited internet access and wasn't able to complete my weekend blog. So, here it is, two days late, bringing you many apologies and... POLKA. I hope you enjoy... :)

I love this baby set in brown and blue! So darling! Now if only I had a baby to go with it, haha!

A very cute little sketch book. Perfect for never losing those brilliant ideas!

I'd love to re-decorate my office with polka dot accented pieces. Lovely!

And if what a wonderful way to keep my supplies, brushes, paints, threads, EVERYTHING organized!

A wonderfully, gorgeous gift box! I'm thinking something Christmas gift-y! ;)

And now for the finale, I LOVE this dress! I think it's smart and sophisticated and flirty and just the PERFECT dress. :D

Team Feature Tuesday - anycards

Hi everyone! Well it's Tuesday which means yay for no classes today (at least for me), and which also means it's time for another Team Feature Tuesday. Today I'll be featuring the shop.... anycards. Anycards is an Etsy shop from my lovely TeamCAC (Christian Artists and Crafters) and she does AMAZING WORK! This feature was a little more difficult than the last one because anycards does a variety of different items and it's hard to pick some favorites. But I think I compiled a wonderful assortment and I hope you enjoy the 2nd edition of Team Feature Tuesday!

A gorgeous autumn frame, perfect for adding a sophisticated fall look to your home or office.

A very cute keepsake box. I'm strongly considering buying a couple of these for Christmas Presents this year. I think they would be perfect!

A lovely candle holder! I really would love to have this when I redecorate my dining room in a more country home motif.

The perfect gift for someone who needs a better place to keep their jewelry (rather than keeping it on the bathroom window sill, on top of a jewelry chest, scattered around in the kitchen and throughout the house... I wonder if my husband ever reads these...).

I think these would be perfect to include when I ship an item to a customer. I just may have to order these...

And my personal favorite of favorites... I would love to have several of these to keep track of my jewelry making supplies, photos, greeting cards, etc. PERFECT!

Alrighty, that was a fun post, I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you anycards for making such wonderful items!

Weekend Wishlist - "Plum" Crazy!

Hi everyone! Along with my Team Feature Tuesday weekly blog, I'm also going to take some time on the weekends to browse around Etsy and see what cool items I can find that I'd want. This will be my Weekend Wishlist blog and I'll try to keep it up every weekend with a new theme. This weekend, the theme is "Plum Crazy" and features items all brought to you by the color purple. :) Enjoy.

I love scarves! And this one is absolutely fit for royalty!

This purse speaks to me. It's my color, it's my style, it's my size. LOVE it!!

And if money were no object, I know I could find a happy home for this gorgeous ring on my right hand! ;)

And now that the weather is cooling off, I know these perfectly purple slippers would keep my toes toasty on my hard wood floors.

I found this shirt and thought it was hilarious! It would be a nice conversation starter at my art shows. lol.

And these lights would sure brighten up the patio! Or if we had a little girl who needed some soft lighting in her room.

Hope you enjoyed the first edition of Weekend Wishlist. See you soon!

FFAT Results

Well yesterday was my 3rd First Friday Art Trail (FFAT). It was a lot of fun as always. The nerves have gotten under control (that first Art Trail was NERVE-RACKING!) and I've gotten used to working the room, talking to people, and just being able to discuss what I do, why I do it, etc with complete strangers.
Last night was the biggest success I've had with the Art Trail thus far. I sold one bracelet and got an order for another bracelet (it's actually the same bracelet and the women were about 5 minutes apart, how funny), there's a picture of the bracelet below. Those are the only two bracelets I've made like that. I made the one for the other woman this morning, so I'll have that shipped off on Monday.

I didn't even have a chance to name it as I just made it this week and wasn't sure if I wanted to leave it as is or make a set out of it. haha.

The biggest news about last night is that I sold a painting! I'm VERY EXCITED about that, if you can't tell. It's my first painting to be sold to someone that's not a relative. Woo-HOO!

I'm really looking forward to the next FFAT. I'll be in the same building, the Downtown Underground at 14th & Texas, but I'm going to hang on a different wall, and have a bigger table for my jewelry. Should be exciting! Hope to see you there!
